Who We are
DIVINE All Along is a human rights organization working to end religious abuse and restore dignity, safety, and belonging for our queer family.
Why DIVINE All Along Exists
Religious abuse is not an accident.
It is the predictable result of harmful theology protected by institutions that lack accountability.
For queer people, this harm is often invisible to those who cause it.
It shows up as shame, silence, erasure, moral injury, and quiet departure from communities that claim love but cannot offer safety.
DIVINE All Along exists because healing requires more than affirmation, and justice requires more than apology.
It requires truth-telling, accountability, and repair.
What We Mean by Religious Abuse
Religious abuse occurs when spiritual authority, theology, or community power is used to control, shame, exclude, or erase a person’s identity — and when that harm is minimized, justified, or ignored by the institution.
This includes:
theology that denies a person’s inherent worth
spiritual practices used to coerce or modify identity
silence or inaction in the face of harm
systems that protect institutions over people
Religious abuse is not just personal harm. It is a human rights issue.
How We Work
DIVINE All Along works at the intersection of healing, advocacy, and accountability.
We do this in three connected ways:
Healing & Support — creating spaces where people harmed by religion can process, heal, and reclaim dignity and worth
Public Education & Advocacy — naming how harmful theology becomes systemic abuse, and challenging the silence that allows it to continue
Accountability with Faith Communities — helping communities move from intention to real responsibility through our DIVINE Spaces program
We do not offer guarantees or quick fixes. We build the conditions for honesty, accountability, and repair — over time.
Our Moral Foundation
The DIVINE Soul’s Bill of Rights names the non-negotiable dignity and worth that guide all of our work.
It affirms that:
every soul is sacred and whole
no one must earn belonging
harm justified by theology is still harm
silence in the face of abuse is not neutrality
This Bill of Rights is not a pledge or a program. It is the ethical ground we stand on.
DIVINE Spaces
DIVINE Spaces is a program of DIVINE All Along focused on accountability with faith communities.
Through assessment, discernment, immersion, and ongoing practice, DIVINE Spaces helps communities move from affirmation to responsibility — and from good intentions to structures that protect people when harm is possible.
DIVINE Spaces is not a guarantee of safety. It is a commitment to accountability, practice, and repair over time.
One Organization. One Purpose.
DIVINE All Along exists to end religious abuse against our queer family.
Our healing work supports those harmed.
Our advocacy names the truth.
Our accountability work challenges institutions to change.
These are not separate efforts. They are different expressions of the same commitment:
Love that can be trusted must be practiced, not proclaimed.
